Push-In Tee Fitting SHPI PUT 10 — Tube 10 mm × Tube 10 mm × Tube 10 mm, Plastic+Brass

Part number: PUT 10 (SHPI) Type: Push-In Tee (One-Touch), tube–tube–tube Tube OD: 10 mm (three ports) Working pressure: 10 bar (1.0 MPa) Manufacturer: SHPI (Taiwan), ISO 9001, RoHS

The SHPI PUT 10 is a push-in tee fitting from the PUT series by Taiwanese manufacturer SHPI (Shan Hua Plastic Industrial Co., 40+ years in the industry, ISO 9001, RoHS). Three ports for 10 mm tubing, One-Touch / Push-In connection: the tube is inserted with a click, no tools required, and locked by a stainless-steel toothed collet. To disconnect — press the release sleeve and pull the tube. The fitting allows a single pneumatic flow to be split into two or two flows to be merged into one.

Description

Problems You May Have Already Faced

  • You need to branch a pneumatic line but only have straight fittings — ending up with a complicated assembly of threaded tees and adapters.
  • A threaded tee started leaking — the tapered thread was tightened at an angle, the seal was damaged, and the system hisses at 8–10 bar.
  • The tube pulled out of the tee — the collet of a cheap alternative does not retain the tube under peak pressure or vibration.
  • Wrong diameter purchased — took PUT 8 (8 mm) instead of PUT 10 (10 mm) and the tube rattles or won’t insert.
  • Installation delayed because of one missing tee — a single small fitting holds up an entire section of the line.

One wrong tee throws the entire pneumatic circuit out of balance. The correct PUT 10 means branching without pressure loss and without leaks.

Part Number Breakdown: PUT 10

  • P — SHPI Push-In fitting series;
  • U — Union (tube-to-tube connection, no threaded ports);
  • T — Tee (three ports in the same plane);
  • 10 — tube outer diameter in mm (fits ⌀10 mm tube on all three ports).

All three ports are identical — there is no designated “inlet” or “outlet”: pressure distributes symmetrically. The fitting is compatible with vacuum systems (down to −100 kPa).

💡 Expert tip: The PUT tee is a tube–tube–tube fitting: none of its three ports has a thread. If you need a T-branch with one threaded port for connection to a valve or cylinder — use the PB series (tube–thread–tube). Confusing PUT with PB means getting a tee you cannot connect to a threaded port.

💡 Note: The PUT series is a tube–tube–tube tee. Do not confuse it with the PBT series (tee with one threaded port) or the PT series (T-union with thread). Confirm port configuration before ordering.

5 Essential Compatibility Parameters

  1. Tube outer diameter — PUT 10 is designed strictly for 10 mm OD tube; 10×6.5 mm (OD×ID) tubing fits, 8×5 mm does not (use PUT 8).
  2. Port configuration — PUT 10 has three tube ports with no threads; if a thread is required — choose the PB or PBT series.
  3. Port layout — the PUT tee is in-line (T-shape); if an angular tee is needed — use the PL series combined with a tee.
  4. System working pressure — PUT 10 is rated for 10 bar; for pressures above 12 bar use metal tees.
  5. Tubing material — compatible with PU and PA tubing; silicone and PVC tubing are not suitable — the collet cannot grip a soft tube wall.

Expert Opinion

“The PUT tee looks simple but is one of the most critical fittings in any pneumatic circuit. The typical mistake: a PUT tee is used for one tube and the second branch is connected through a threaded adapter — resulting in an extra joint and an extra potential leak point. PUT 10 solves it at a single point. The second important factor: the tee creates a flow split, and if the two branch tubes are different lengths — the pressure in them will differ. For applications with tight pressure tolerances — balance the tube lengths or fit pressure regulators on each branch. SHPI PUT holds 10 bar without question; the key is to insert the tube fully until it clicks — incomplete insertion causes a leak and blow-out under pressure.”

Applicable standards:

  • ISO 9001 — SHPI manufacturer quality management system
  • RoHS — compliance with hazardous substance restrictions
  • ISO 8573-1 — working air quality requirements (class 1.4.1 recommended for collet protection)

How to Make a Correct Connection with PUT 10: Step-by-Step

  1. Prepare the tube — cut perpendicular to the tube axis with a sharp tube cutter or tube scissors; an angled cut will not produce a leak-free joint.
  2. Check the diameter — the tube must be exactly 10 mm OD, with no ovality or mechanical damage at the end.
  3. Insert the tube fully — push into the PUT 10 port until you feel a distinct click and slight resistance; insertion depth is 10 mm.
  4. Check the grip — pull the tube with moderate force: it must not come out of the fitting.
  5. Check for leaks — apply working pressure and apply soapy water to the joint: no bubbles should appear.

FAQ

❓ What is the difference between SHPI PUT 10 and PB 10-02? PUT 10 is a tube–tube–tube tee: all three ports are for 10 mm tubing, no threads. PB 10-02 is a tube–thread–tube tee: two tube ports and one R1/4″ male threaded port for connection to a threaded port on a valve or cylinder. If you need a branch in the middle of a pneumatic line without a threaded connection — PUT 10; if you need a thread on the branch — PB 10-02.

❓ Can tubes of different diameters be connected to PUT 10? No. All three ports of PUT 10 are designed for one tube diameter — 10 mm. If you need a diameter transition, use a reducing tee from the PUT series or a combination of straight reducer fittings from the PE series. Ask an Acvatron SRL engineer for the correct part number.

❓ Can PUT 10 be used in vacuum systems? Yes. The fitting is rated for vacuum down to −100 kPa. The internal seals provide a leak-free connection under both positive pressure and vacuum. PUT 10 is suitable for branching vacuum lines in laboratory and medical equipment.

❓ How do I disconnect the tube from PUT 10 without damaging it? Press your finger on the blue release sleeve around the tube and simultaneously pull the tube away from the fitting. Do not pull the tube without pressing the sleeve — the collet will tighten further and the tube will deform. After disconnection, the tube can be reinserted — the collet is designed for repeated reconnections.
