Description and Advantages
Highly elastic polyurethane — the key advantage
Polyurethane (PU) outperforms PVC and polyethylene in abrasion resistance by 3–5 times and in flexibility at low temperatures. The tube retains its elasticity at −20 °C, does not crack when bent and quickly recovers its original shape after load removal. This makes it indispensable in robotic systems, conveyors and pneumatic automation, where tubes are subjected to repeated bending cycles.
6×4 mm size — for low air-flow applications
The 6×4 mm tube is used where precise delivery of small air volumes is required: valve actuation, feeding small pneumatic cylinders, sensors and pilot lines. The 4 mm inner diameter delivers flow rates of up to ~40 l/min at 6 bar. For higher flow rates, use the 8×5 mm tube from the same catalogue.
One-Touch fitting compatibility
The 6×4 mm tube is compatible with all collet-type fittings in the PC, POC, PL and PT series for 6 mm outer diameter. No tools required for connection: simply push the tube in until it clicks. To disconnect, press the fitting’s retaining ring. All SHPI fittings for this tube are available in the Acvatron catalogue.
Colour coding for pneumatic lines
SHPI tubes are available in 5 colours: blue (standard), red (high pressure / hazardous line), yellow (vacuum), black (oil-resistant), transparent (visual medium inspection). Colour coding simplifies maintenance of multi-circuit pneumatic systems.
