S6430 6-1/8 Camozzi — Male Run Tee Swivel Push-in Fitting G1/8-6 mm

The Camozzi series 6000 push-in tee fitting is designed for inline branching of a pneumatic line: one threaded G1/8 port and two push-in connections for 6 mm tube sit on the same axis, allowing you to tap into a straight run without changing flow direction.

Key specs: G1/8 male thread + 2× push-in 6 mm; nickel-plated brass body; working pressure 16 bar; temperature −20…+80 °C. Typical use: branching pneumatic lines, manifolds, connecting sensors/gauges without cutting the main run.

Description

Part number breakdown

Position in part number Value Explanation
S swivel version the threaded section can rotate on its axis even after installation — useful for orienting the branch without unscrewing
6430 shape code “male run tee, thread” Camozzi’s internal catalogue code for this body geometry
6 6 mm nominal outer tube diameter for both push-in connections
1/8 G1/8 outer cylindrical thread size for screwing into the port

Purpose and working principle

The run tee is used to branch compressed air at a single point in the line: the G1/8 threaded end screws into a port (air preparation unit, manifold, valve body), while the two opposite push-in ends accept Ø6 mm tube along the same axis. The swivel (S) design lets you reorient the threaded section after tightening, without twisting the tubes. The collet grips the tube by its outer diameter, sealing is provided by a PTFE ring and NBR gasket.

Key parameters

Parameter Value Comment
Connection 1 G1/8, male thread screws into the threaded port (FRL unit, manifold, valve)
Connections 2 and 3 Ø6 mm tube, push-in both sides of the tee — for identical 6 mm tube
Fitting shape run tee, swivel thread and tubes on the same axis — ideal for a straight run
Working pressure up to 16 bar ample margin for typical 6–10 bar pneumatic networks
Working temperature −20…+80 °C suitable for indoor and outdoor conditions year-round in Moldova
Body/collet material nickel-plated brass corrosion resistance, durability under frequent connect/disconnect
Seals NBR + PTFE ring oil and wear resistance in cyclic operation
Weight 26 g compact, doesn’t load the line

Key design features

The body and moving collet are made of nickel-plated brass — combining mechanical strength with corrosion resistance, important where humidity or condensate is present in the line. The threaded seal is a PTFE ring (chemically inert, no thread tape required), the collet’s elastic seals are NBR, resistant to oily condensate in compressed air. Working medium — compressed air per ISO 8573-1:2010 [7:-:-]. The swivel joint (S) means you never need to disassemble tubing to adjust the thread’s orientation.

★ Series lineup

Camozzi S6430 tees come in various thread/tube combinations — choose based on your existing tube diameter and port thread:

Part number Thread Tube When to choose
S6430 4-M5 M5 4 mm compact pilot lines, sensors
S6430 4-1/8 G1/8 4 mm thin tubing on a standard G1/8 port
S6430 6-1/8 G1/8 6 mm most common combination for shop-floor pneumatic automation
S6430 8-1/8 G1/8 8 mm higher flow on the same G1/8 port
S6430 8-1/4 G1/4 8 mm main-line branching, higher air flow
S6430 10-3/8 G3/8 10 mm manifolds and distribution nodes with high flow

⚠️ Selection rule: match the thread strictly to the existing port (don’t oversize the thread for a larger tube — this can weaken the body wall); match the tube to the actual line diameter in use. If flow capacity is in doubt, go one tube size up, not one thread size up.

★ Compatibility / direct replacement

Brand / part number Thread-tube Compatible Note
Festo QST-G1/8-6 G1/8–6 mm direct match on mounting dimensions, metal body
Pemaks PRBTO-1/8-6 G1/8–6 mm metal tee, identical connection geometry
SMC KQ2T06-00A 6–6 mm (no thread) this is a tube-to-tube reducing/branch tee with no threaded port — does not replace S6430
SMC KQB2 (series) thread+tube ⚠️ SMC has no tee in this range with an exactly matching inline-run geometry — verify against the drawing before replacing

Specialist tips

  • Before installation, make sure the tube is cut perfectly square with no burrs — otherwise the collet won’t achieve a full seal.
  • The G1/8 thread does not need PTFE tape — sealing is already provided by the PTFE ring at the end; extra tape can disturb correct seating.
  • Don’t over-torque the thread by hand — the brass body can be damaged by excessive force.
  • For frequent tube connect/disconnect, choose this all-metal version rather than the polymer equivalent — collet service life is several times longer.

💡 Pro tip: when branching several air-tap points on the same line, install a run tee instead of a splitter built from separate fittings — fewer potential leak points and a more compact installation.

⚠️ Common mistake: confusing G thread (cylindrical, requires sealing) with R thread (tapered, self-sealing) — this part is always specified as G thread; no additional thread sealant is needed.

Not suitable for

  • Aggressive chemical media incompatible with NBR — an FPM/Viton equivalent is needed.
  • Sustained temperatures above +80 °C — an all-metal version with a different seal material is required.
  • Not intended for hydraulics or high-pressure water — pneumatics/compressed air only.

★ Practical cases

  1. On a bottling line, the client needed an extra air tap for label blow-off without stopping the main run — an S6430 was installed instead of cutting the tube and adding two separate fittings; installation took 10 minutes.
  2. During an assembly-stand retrofit, plastic SMC KQ2T tees were replaced with brass S6430 units due to frequent disconnects during reconfiguration — over six months of operation, no collet failures were recorded, versus 3 replacements of the plastic equivalent on the neighbouring stand in the same period.
  3. In a compressor room with high air humidity, technopolymer tees cracked at low winter temperatures — switching to nickel-plated brass S6430 fully eliminated the seasonal leak problem.

“The S6430 tee is one of those fittings you never notice as long as it’s working correctly. Many people branch a line with a plain fitting plus a separate reducing tee — no need: Camozzi’s swivel inline version installs in one motion and doesn’t add extra threaded points in tight mounting spaces. I recommend keeping this size in stock for any pneumatic automation panel — sooner or later you’ll need an extra air tap, and it’s better not to cut the run again from scratch.”

FAQ

What’s the difference between an inline (run) tee and an elbow tee? In the inline tee (S6430), the thread and both push-in connections sit on the same straight line, suitable for fitting into a straight run without changing direction. An elbow tee changes flow direction by 90°.

Can this tee be used for three different tube diameters? No, both push-in sides of the S6430 6-1/8 are sized for 6 mm tube only — a different size reducing tee is needed for mixed diameters.

Why choose the swivel (S) version if a fixed one exists? The swivel joint lets you reorient the threaded section into a convenient position even after the thread is tightened — no need to calculate the angle in advance or twist the tubes during installation.

Does the G1/8 thread on this tee need PTFE tape? No, the threaded joint is already sealed by the PTFE ring at the fitting’s end — extra tape isn’t needed and can interfere with correct seating.

Is this tee suitable for water, or air only? The product is rated for compressed air per ISO 8573-1:2010; for pressurized water, seal compatibility and certification requirements must be checked separately.
