ACCUAFLY™ NSF51 calibrated food-grade polyethylene (PE) tubing is designed for the transport of beverages, drinking water, food liquids and products in bottling, dosing and transfer systems.
1. Purpose and Operating Principle
The tubing is manufactured in a co-extruded version with a smooth inner surface. The raw materials are completely non-toxic and comply with FDA requirements, as confirmed by NSF/ANSI 51 certification. The material contains no additives, does not absorb tastes or odours, does not form deposits and does not require washing during normal operation (except when specified by the user).
Operating principle — free or pressurised liquid flow through a smooth channel without altering the organoleptic properties of the product.

Design solutions
-
Co-extrusion — homogeneous wall structure without layers prone to delamination.
-
Smooth inner surface — minimal flow resistance, no product accumulation zones.
-
No additives or colourants in the food-contact zone (coloured stripe, if present, is located only on the outside).
-
High barrier properties — preservation of beverage taste and aroma.
-
Marking every 50 cm — lot (LOT) traceability and NSF51 compliance.
-
Calibrated dimensions — stable fit in push-in and compression fittings for Ø 6 mm.
4. Installation Recommendations
-
Fittings. Use push-in (collet) or compression fittings sized for 6 mm outside diameter. Food-grade series are preferred (Aignep 53000 FOOD, SMC KQ2 food-grade, Camozzi Series 6000 Food and equivalents).
-
Deformation limit. Do not use fittings that expand the tube end by more than ~15 %. Polyethylene is prone to creep under excessive stretching.
-
Cutting. Cut perpendicular to the axis with a sharp knife or tube cutter. Ends must be square and free of burrs.
-
Bend radius. Minimum radius 40 mm at 23 °C. Smaller radii reduce service life and may cause kinking.
-
Temperature and pressure. Above 23 °C always apply the pressure correction factor from the table above.
-
Sealing. No PTFE tape is required for push-in connections. For threaded transitions use only food-grade seals.
-
Flushing. Before first start-up it is recommended to flush the system with drinking water. During normal operation regular flushing is usually not required.

6. Common Mistakes
-
Installing fittings that over-expand the tube end → creep and loss of sealing.
-
Ignoring the temperature pressure correction factor → exceeding allowable load when heated.
-
Using standard (non-food) push-in fittings in the product contact zone.
-
Bending the tube with a radius smaller than 40 mm → kinking and reduced service life.
-
Operating the tube above 60 °C without confirmation from the manufacturer.
-
Storing reels under direct sunlight without protection (PE is sensitive to UV under prolonged exposure).
7. Applications
-
Beverage bottling systems (juices, water, carbonated and still drinks).
-
Drinking-water supply lines.
-
Food dosing and transfer of liquid products.
-
Equipment for food production and packaging.
-
Low/medium-pressure food-grade pneumatic lines requiring NSF51.
-
Laboratory and process lines with food-contact media.
8. Expert Opinion
Vitali Boluchevski, Lead Engineer, Acvatron SRL, 18 years of experience:
“ACCUAFLY™ is one of the cleanest and most predictable PE tubes for beverages and drinking water that we supply. The smooth inner surface and absence of additives really work: customers report no taste change even after a long line shutdown. The key points are not to skimp on fittings and not to forget the temperature pressure correction factor. For most Moldovan bottling and dosing lines the 4×6 mm size offers the optimal balance between flow rate and flexibility.”
9. FAQ
1. Is the tubing suitable for carbonated beverages?
Yes. NSF51 certification and compliance with FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 allow use with beverages, including carbonated ones (within the working pressure and temperature limits).
2. Can it be used with push-in fittings for Ø 6 mm?
Yes, provided the fitting does not expand the tube by more than ~15 %. Food-grade series are recommended.
3. Is flushing required before first use?
Flushing with drinking water is recommended. During normal operation regular flushing is generally not required.
4. What is the maximum service life?
The manufacturer states that replacement is required only at the user’s discretion. When pressure, temperature and bend radius are observed, the tubing lasts for years.
5. Is a version with a coloured stripe available?
Yes. The coloured stripe is applied only on the outside of the wall and does not contact the product.
